The Goldfish eMat is our pick for a first lick mat for a cat. It is about 4 × 4 inches, sized for a cat's mouth, with a gentle fish-themed texture that holds wet food, a fish paste or plain yogurt. It is made from TPE and has no suction cups. SodaPup lists it as top-rack dishwasher safe and freezer safe. It is also a good fit for toy-breed dogs and puppies.
Why we like it
- A small size that suits cats' mouths, unlike most dog-sized lick mats.
- Easy to spread with wet food and wash on the top rack.
- A low price for an introduction to lick mats.
Keep in mind
It has no suction cups, so place it on a flat, stable surface at floor level. Supervise your cat, and use food that suits their diet. Lick mats are an enrichment toy, not a replacement for a vet-recommended feeding plan.
Who it’s for
Cats, kittens, toy-breed dogs and puppies. A good introduction to lick mats and a way to slow a fast eater.

Sized for a cat
Most lick mats are made for dogs and are too big for a cat. At about 4 × 4 inches, the Goldfish eMat is proportioned for a cat or a small dog, and the texture is gentle for a feline tongue.
How to use it
Spread a thin layer of wet cat food or a plain spread over the surface and place the mat on a flat floor. Let your cat lick at their own pace. Freezing the mat with the food makes it last longer.
