The Tough Bone is our pick when you want a simple, no-nonsense nylon chew for a dog who goes through softer toys quickly. It is a classic bone shape with easy-grip ends, made in the USA from FDA-compliant, BPA-free nylon, and it weighs 4 oz so a medium or large dog can carry it. Nylon is a hard chew, so it is a toy for supervised sessions, not a snack to leave out for hours.
Why we like it
- A familiar bone shape that is easy for a dog to hold between the paws.
- A light 4 oz body makes it easy to carry and toss indoors.
- Dishwasher-safe on the top rack for simple cleaning.
Keep in mind
SodaPup says no dog toy is indestructible: supervise chewing, inspect the toy regularly and replace it if it is damaged or pieces break off.
Who it’s for
Medium and large dogs who chew with purpose, such as Labs, Border Collies and German Shepherds, according to SodaPup. Dogs who dislike hard textures, puppies still teething and gentle chewers may prefer a rubber toy.

A nylon chew for strong jaws
Nylon holds up to repeated chewing far longer than soft plush or rope, which is why SodaPup positions the Tough Bone for power chewers. It gives a dog who destroys softer toys a more durable outlet, always under supervision.
Pick the right size and texture
SodaPup sizes this bone for medium to large breeds. A very small dog will struggle with it, and a dog who has never had a hard chew should be introduced to it slowly. Watch how your dog chews and take it away if pieces come off.
