The Rocket Ship is our pick for a dog who wants a fun shape as well as a tough chew. It is a 6.75 × 3.25 inch nylon toy weighing 5.3 oz, with a textured surface, rated by SodaPup for dogs from 15 to 80 lb. The rocket shape gives a dog different edges to grip and is easier to spot on the floor than a bone.
Why we like it
- A clear weight range, 15 to 80 lb, helps you judge the fit.
- The rocket shape gives a dog several edges to hold.
- Dishwasher safe on the top rack.
Keep in mind
SodaPup says no dog toy is indestructible: supervise chewing, inspect the toy regularly and replace it if it is damaged or pieces break off.
Who it’s for
Medium to large dogs, 15 to 80 lb, who chew hard and often, according to SodaPup. Skip it for tiny dogs and for dogs who dislike hard textures.

A chew with a bit of fun
Most nylon chews are bones. The Rocket Ship keeps the durability but adds a playful silhouette and a textured surface, which can make it more interesting to a dog who is bored with plain bones.
A clear size range
SodaPup recommends this toy for dogs between 15 and 80 lb, a wider range than many nylon chews list. A dog at the top of that range may prefer a larger chew, and a dog at the bottom may find it large.
