The Jumbo Braided Bully Stick is our pick for a medium or large dog who finishes ordinary chews in minutes. It is a single-ingredient 100% beef pizzle stick, braided for thickness, in a full 6 inch size that Safest Dog Chews says is built for determined chewers and will not splinter as they work through it. It is sold as one stick or in packs of four, ten and twenty-five. Like any edible chew it is calorie-dense, so count it in your dog's day.
Why we like it
- A single ingredient makes the label easy to check.
- A braided, thick stick lasts longer than a thin one.
- Multi-pack options bring the price per stick down.
Keep in mind
Bully sticks are calorie-dense and can carry germs, so wash your hands after handling. Always supervise chewing, choose a size that suits your dog's weight, take the chew away when it becomes small enough to swallow whole and wash your hands after handling treats. Ask your vet if your dog has dental, digestive or weight concerns.
Who it’s for
Medium to large dogs and determined chewers who like a beef chew. Smaller dogs may prefer a thinner stick or a small size of another chew.

A thick, single-ingredient chew
Bully sticks are a popular edible chew. The Jumbo Braided version is braided for extra thickness, so it takes a medium or large dog longer to finish. Safest Dog Chews lists one ingredient, 100% beef pizzle, with no preservatives, dyes or additives.
Chew safely
Any edible chew can become a swallowing hazard as it shrinks. Stay with your dog, take away the small end piece and keep fresh water available. Bully sticks are calorie-dense, so reduce meals if your dog chews often.
