Natural Dog Shampoo is our pick for a dog whose skin gets dry or itchy and for owners who want a plant-based formula. Rockwell Pets Pro makes it with aloe vera, hemp seed and argan kernel plus willow, meadowsweet, chaparral and olive extracts. It is free of petroleum, animal by-products, synthetic fragrances, colors and antimicrobial preservatives, and the bottle holds 16 fl oz. Rockwell Pets Pro recommends monthly baths. Persistent itching, redness or sores need a vet to find the cause.
Why we like it
- A plant-based ingredient list with no synthetic fragrance or colors.
- A moisturizing formula aimed at dry, itchy-feeling skin.
- A 16 fl oz bottle that covers many baths.
Keep in mind
Skin problems can have medical causes, so a shampoo is not a substitute for a vet visit when itching or redness persists. Rinse thoroughly, avoid the eyes and test a small area on a dog with very sensitive skin.
Who it’s for
Dogs with dry or sensitive skin, and owners who want a plant-based formula without synthetic fragrances. A dog with a skin condition should be examined by a vet.

A gentle bath, not a treatment
Rockwell Pets Pro positions the shampoo as moisturizing and soothing for dry and itchy skin, with aloe vera and argan oil. It is a cleaner for regular baths, and itchy skin that does not settle needs a vet to check for allergies, parasites or infection.
How to use it
Wet the coat, work the shampoo deeply into the skin and roots, then rinse thoroughly. Rockwell Pets Pro suggests monthly baths. Over-bathing can dry skin, so follow the brand's guidance or your vet's.
