We recommend this simpLEash for a handler who wants a six-foot leash with an additional way to loop the handle around a post or tree. Its one-inch silicone-coated webbing and quick-release carabiner are a more substantial setup than a slim, lightweight lead. DogNerd says the clip is proportionally best for dogs 50 pounds and up, and limits the integrated G-clip to light or medium tension; those details should guide the choice more than the product’s broad strength claims.
Why we like it
- The fixed six-foot length and one-inch width are clearly stated, making it easier to compare with a current leash.
- The handle G-clip adds a hands-free loop option without unclipping the dog, within the seller’s light- or medium-tension limit.
- Rinsing or wiping the silicone-coated webbing is a straightforward care routine for muddy or wet walks, according to DogNerd.
Keep in mind
The clip is larger than a standard snap hook and may feel bulky on a small dog. DogNerd says the integrated G-clip is for light- or medium-tension loops and advises using a full-size carabiner for a dog that pulls hard. Do not treat the seller’s 1,000 kg clip rating as proof that every way of tethering a dog is safe. The supplied 15% code is owner-provided and has not been checked in a cart.
Who it’s for
Owners of larger dogs who want a six-foot, one-inch-wide leash and will use the handle clip only for the light- or medium-tension loops DogNerd describes. The seller says the quick-release carabiner is best suited to dogs 50 pounds and up because of its size.

Start with the leash size and hardware
The simpLEash is six feet long and one inch wide. DogNerd says its quick-release carabiner is best suited to dogs 50 pounds and up because the clip is larger than a standard snap hook. That is useful fit guidance for smaller dogs too: the lead may be more substantial than they need, even though the page lists multiple colors rather than separate size options.
Use the handle clip for the job it was designed to do
An integrated G-clip lets the handler loop the leash around a post or tree without taking the primary carabiner off the dog. DogNerd limits this feature to light- or medium-tension loops and recommends a full-size carabiner for dogs that pull hard. Follow that distinction and do not rely on a small handle clip to restrain a strong puller.
A coated lead for wet walks
DogNerd describes the silicone-coated nylon as suited to wet or dirty adventures and says it can be rinsed or wiped down. The seller also says the material does not retain smells; that is a product claim rather than an independent test result. Check the current care directions and inspect the stitching and hardware regularly.
