Our criteria. Your pet’s life.
Usefulness comes first
We evaluate how a product fits into an ordinary routine: what job it does, what makes the design useful and whether it suits the pet and owner considering it. We favor specific recommendations over broad superlatives.
The criteria behind a verdict
We consider intended use, fit and sizing, materials, care, everyday usability and value. The emphasis changes with the category. A harness needs appropriate fit and useful attachment options; a carrier needs suitable dimensions and practical access. We explain those differences in words rather than giving products numerical scores.
Evidence behind the details
We use official specifications, product instructions, documented research and real testing observations when available. Specific test results require a recorded source. Manufacturer descriptions do not become our own measured results, and we do not invent veterinary endorsements. Product sources appear on our reviews.
How evidence shows up in a review
Each review states its sources and the date details were checked. When a review includes testing observations or measurements, they come from documented testing. Design assessments and fit guidance are our editorial judgment, clearly written as recommendations.
Recommendations and relationships
We can earn a commission from qualifying purchases. That does not remove meaningful limitations from a review. Samples, sponsorships and material commercial relationships are disclosed where they apply. Discount codes are listed only when their offer and terms are confirmed.
Keeping information useful
We record when product details were checked. Models, availability and offers can change; we update the shared product data so repeated facts remain consistent across the site. Health and nutrition topics require especially careful sourcing and qualified review when appropriate.
